WHAT IS ENVIRONMENTAL LABELLING
Environmental Labelling is a system that informs consumers about the ecological impact of a product throughout its life cycle. It provides concrete data on environmental sustainability, helping to assess aspects such as resource consumption, CO₂ emissions and waste management. Thanks to this practice, companies and consumers can make more conscious and responsible choices, promoting a greener and more sustainable production chain.
BENEFITS FOR COMPANIES AND CONSUMERS
The application of Environmental Labelling brings benefits to both businesses and consumers. Companies gain a competitive advantage by demonstrating transparency and environmental responsibility, improving brand image. Consumers can quickly identify green products, reducing the environmental impact of their daily choices. This transparency also facilitates the adoption of more sustainable policies and supports the circular economy.
INTERNATIONAL REGULATIONS AND STANDARDS
Environmental Labelling is regulated by specific national and international regulations, which define rigorous criteria for issuing certifications. These include ISO 14024 and the European Union Eco-label, fundamental tools that guarantee the credibility and reliability of environmental information provided to consumers. These standards ensure that environmental labels are uniform, verifiable and globally recognised.
