The concept of a wine club originated in the United States in 1972 from an idea by Paul Kalemkiarian (an Armenian pharmacist who emigrated to America and developed a passion for wine there), when he created the "Wine of the Month Club." It was a subscription service through which he offered his customers one white and one red wine each month, shipped directly to their homes by mail. The initiative was born because the pharmacist couldn't manage the large number of customers who came to the wine shop in person, looking for good wines for a few dollars.

In recent years, the idea of shipping wine bottles directly to homes has also begun to spread in Europe. In Italy, in particular, there was a real boom in 2020 during the Covid-19 pandemic, due to restrictions and the inability to leave home.

It's the choice of a "wine package", but not only that.

Subscribing to these plans allows consumers to enjoy receiving wine bottles directly at home, on a periodic basis. Typically, the options range from a mystery box (as in the case of our company Giovanni Menti) or the choice of wine type, the frequency of reception, up to the quantity of bottles to receive.

Generally, in addition to the mystery box itself, preferential treatment is provided for members, including:

• Participation in tastings and events;
• Access to bottles from older vintages;
• Discounts to be used on the next purchase;
• Merchandise.

• Winery party at certain times of the year, such as the end of an important process during wine production. At our winery, for example, we organize the Harvest End Party, to celebrate the end of the harvest with all our customers and friends;
• Events for the winery's anniversary;
• Aperitifs in the cellar;
• Exclusive moments to share with the winery team, such as the post-harvest lunch included in one of our packages.
