Villasimius isn't just beaches
Villasimius is a wine tourism destination too: a few minutes from Porto Giunco and Capo Carbonara, in the Brennas area, there are 5 hectares of organic vineyard on granite soils, between 180 and 350 metres above sea level. They are our vineyards — and you can visit them, tasting included.
Most people who come to Villasimius know the sea. Few know that Cannonau and Vermentino grow just behind the coast, surrounded by Mediterranean scrub. This guide explains what you can do, when and how.

Vineyard walk and tasting, with aperitivo
You walk through the Cannonau and Vermentino rows, cross the Mediterranean scrub and see up close how an organic wine is made. The visit ends under a centuries-old carob tree with a tasting of our wines paired with Sardinian specialities. An afternoon in the vineyard tells you more than a thousand back labels.
Fresh pasta class: culurgiones
Culurgiones are learned with your hands: you knead the dough, prepare the potato and mint filling, and then comes the hard part — the braided closure, handed down from family to family. At the end everyone sits down together: local starters, Sardinian wine, time slowing down.
Lunch or dinner in the vineyard, with a visit
Mario takes you through the rows and talks about the vineyard and the current season. Gianluca explains the land, the organic philosophy and the choices made in the cellar. It ends under the carob tree with a lunch made from what grows here. Not a tour: a day in a real vineyard.

When to come
- May–June — green vines, perfect temperatures, few tourists
- July–August — high season: easy to combine with a beach holiday, best booked a week in advance
- September–October — harvest time (we pick by hand, from early to late September): the liveliest moment of the year in the vineyard
Practical information
- Duration — from 1.5 to 3 hours depending on the experience
- Booking — required, at least 2–3 days in advance (a week in July and August)
- Languages — Italian and English
- Who it's for — no expertise needed: the experiences are designed for people discovering wine for the first time, too
- Shopping — at the end of the visit you can buy bottles, honey and tasting boxes directly at the winery
What to combine with your day
The vineyard is a few minutes from the beaches: you can swim at Porto Giunco in the morning and walk through the vines in the afternoon, when the light is better and the heat drops. If you can't come — or want to take the day home with you — you'll find the same bottles in our tasting boxes and in the Wine Club.
Everyone knows the sea at Villasimius. Almost nobody knows the hill behind it. That's where we make our wine — and the door is open.
